j637bPensacola Lighthouse |
This scene was drawn on-site during a picnic. We had visited the naval air station, the weather proved perfect for a sketch. The light reflected off the brilliant, near-white sand completely overpowered the detail in the distant trees, actually visually rendering them black. The sea was calm as the area is protected by a barrier island. The actual conditions on the beach soon became inhospitable for colored pencils, as the wax began to melt and fail to lay down pigment. This is the sole on-site drawing produced at the beach. Produced 29 April 2000 = Tayya 637b, six dozen third phase (Añikç-Epravinal Xrga, “Househunting Life Phase”).
