Current State of the Argam Typeface

Argam 2022

The extension of the Vinci Firenze Argam typeface to 120 numerals was finished 10 June 2015. This is the current state of the typeface. The final stages are fine tuning and creating the typeface file. Extension to 360 depends on the duration of extension to 120. See argam-kinoctove for details on the argam. The argam as it was conceived in late 2007 has persisted for nearly nine years without any major adjustment, thus it is appropriate to more solidly "codify" the numberforms via an extended typeface. On 5 June the numerals for digits 12, 18, 24, 48, and 54 were adjusted so as to be more legible.

Numerals above the dashed line are already part of the current Vinci Firenze Argam typeface, produced 19 April 2009 (tayya 8250). Placeholders indicate numerals that have not yet been drawn. See argam-kinoctove for the design of the numerals. Some numerals (digit-21 "tress", digit-74 "dimack", digit-88 "octell") have two or more variants based on writing style. Digit-72 (octove) has a variant that resembles digit-36 (exent). The variants will be available in the extended Vinci Firenze Argam typeface.
