Agora in the Loop
Cross section of a steel retail commons north of Delmar in the University City (Missouri) Loop executed in blue ballpoint ink. The drawing applies 4 years’ experience as an architect intern to informal on site observation. The skill was widely used outside of sketchbooks at work, preserved here. The skill would see much wider use in the coming few years as part of design development constructability studies. This type of drawing is a precursor to the construction visualization work that is my business today. The bleed-through of the preceding drawing s5231a71 drifts above, with a loosely traced face, the word “Chicago”, and some lyrics from “Southern Train” by Stone Temple Pilots. The sketch was to be one of the activities associated with an on site sketch series with other young architects; no one else came. Drawn early April 1998 five dozen tenth phase (Ñixaþ-Aðilyral Xrga), St. Louis Artists Guild, Clayton, Missouri.
