« Sei un ragazzo splendido »

For a week in the Val di Chiana I stayed with Mairenâ and Aveacrixe. I sketched a plan of their apartment in Foiano della Chiana, measuring it by paces. Accompanying Mairenâ to the Arezzo Hospital, I sketched the patient room, complete with balcony and high ceilings. The layout of the Italian hospital patient room was utterly otherworldly to me, as I was accustomed to hermetically-sealed American medical wards. Some small graphic musings grace the lower left side of the page, the fleur-de-lis, my long-standing “Caryma” logo, and a new Icarus logo. The Caryma logo evolved to become the logo of my company, Vinci LLC. Mairenâ writes a message at the left of the page, followed by two of the acquaintances from the Rive Gauche youth hostel in Paris, with whom I toured the city during the evenings. (Some information has been erased for their privacy).

Mairenâ’s message states “You are a splendid guy. If I were much younger I would’ve married you, if you wanted me to? Love, Mairenâ”. This represents the closure of my relationships with Mairenâ and Aveacrixe, the former relationship is first recorded in the Rykami Yasmyne s45b0 more than five years previous.
