The very first step in producing good construction simulations is getting scale correct. If it ain’t correct to start with, the entire exercise is a waste of your time and money. Why hassle with staff in house or hired guns who can’t vouch for distances between landmarks in the model? Who can’t overlay the footprint of the bid set plans onto an orthoaerial?Further, this step has to be quick and easy, not a guessing game or a source of confusion that triggers time-wasting meetings. Vinci naturally starts with scaling and normally has it established in the first hour of work: usually within 15 minutes. It’s that plain. Get scale right, or everything after it is completely wrong.
