Plan views connect with most technical professionals as well as non-technical folks who’ve grown accustomed to seeing their facility portrayed thus. This printed plate connects early-phase temporary conditions with the existing plan view to show the near-plantwide extent of mass excavation and grading on site. Compare this plan or “orthographic” view with oblique screen-projected views of the same subject. The paraline plan view has special properties: we can use it like an architect’s plan and scale it; the oblique does not offer us that amenity. Keep in mind the average member of the audience will not derive any benefit from being able to lay an engineer’s scale on the image to figure horizontal straight-line distances between points of interest. The oblique view yields more information about height and depth in space and is generally more appealing to non-technical people in your audience. Questions for you to ask about your marketing effort: “Who am I trying to reach with these visuals?” “Do I want to accentuate measure and scale, a 1-to-1 correspondence with the diagrams with which the audience is already familiar, or do I want to hit them with spatial impact? Is spatial impact really important?” Vinci LLC has produced high-resolution plates for printed proposals since 2004. These images can seamlessly flow directly into your team’s proposal document to illustrate key points in your narrative. Interview imagery can naturally follow on after proposal work is complete.
